Cretaiole

We visited Agriturismo Cretaiole this past May and had the most wonderful time there. It is a beautiful property where you can relax, take in the quiet and view, or use as a jumping off place for touring points of interest in the country side. Isabella gave an excellent orientation to the local history and culture. She has assembled binders of very informative material that can be used to help make the most of your stay in the area. Carlotta was an exceptional and knowledgeable guide on the tours for the Hermitage and local artisans. Both were very professional, but also very warm and kind. Our apartment was clean, comfortable and very nicely appointed. We were one of three couples who visited together, and all of us agreed we would happily return to Cretaiole in the future.

Our stay at Cretaiole was flawless from start to finish. We were a large group of 7 adults and a baby, but they attended to our every need. The accommodations were so beautiful, with thoughtful touches at every corner. We also took part in a number of the activities that were offered, from the truffle hunt to making our own pasta. Isabella, Carlotta, Carlo and Luciano went above and beyond to make our family vacation the most memorable one. We also have a minor medical situation, and Isabella spend the entire morning on the phone with doctors and personally seeing that we were attended to and helping us navigate though the doctors and the pharmacy. We can't thank them enough and deeply hope that we are able to return some day.

Our family (2 adults, 3 young children) were fortunate enough to stay at Cretaiole over the Thanksgiving holiday in November. What a fantastic week! Cretaiole is centrally located in Tuscany. We were able to participate in all the wonderful activities that they had on property (pasta making, farm tours, communal lunches, dinners) and mix this into our travels around Tuscany. Isabella has included in each villa a wonderful collection of instructions and details of all that Tuscany has to offer with regard to nearby towns, experiences, etc. Isabella, Carlotta, Carlo and the rest of the family have created a fantastic, warm, family-friendly agriturismo that we hope to return to again.

My family spent our first rural Italian vacation at Cretaiole. We have been in Italy on numerous occasions and mainly stayed in the cities. This was a wonderful experience with wonderful people. Everyone on staff was attentive and sincere. They were also a lot of fun. The planned activities provided us the rural experience we were looking for. There was a great concern about providing us with their "farm to table" philosophy and description of Italy's approach to quality food and food production. This is in stark contrast to the philosophy in the US. The facilities are great and the scenery was without equal.

We spent some time at Cretaiole during our honeymoon and it was a slice of heaven on earth. From the moment we got there until the moment we left we were treated so nicely. We arrived to a wonderful table filled with homemade goodies and groceries that lasted us throughout the week. We had so many options of wonderful activities that Isabella organized. Did I mention the view? We made ourselves nice and comfortable quite a few nights on a hammock overlooking the rolling fields of Tuscany. Carlotta and Marta helped us make dinner reservations at some of the best places we have ever eaten. Luciano provided a great farm tour and some delicious homemade wine! And Carlo gave us a really great tour of his grape and olive groves. We felt like family while we were there and we are counting down the days until we are back!! Spectacular.

My wife and young daughter stayed at Cretaiole in the summer of 2017 and had just the best vacation. This was nothing short of a true Tuscan experience! We loved the owners, the property and the experiences so much that we brought out parents for a visit in May of 2019. They loved every bit of it. We stayed at the former farmhouse both times and just loved the restored building. If you are looking for a personable, life changing vacation, this is the right place. You also can't beat the location. Perfect for exploring the many hill towns of tuscany surrounding Pienza. A rental car is a must. Super easy to get to from the Rome or Florence Airports (the drive is beautiful in it's own right). We can't recommend enough - Grant and Julee - USA (40yrs old and 5 year old)

Great stay, staff was superb, apartment was very comfortable and stocked well with the Dolce Vita option. It was the most relaxed vacation of late and Fernanda and staff had activities planned out daily, if you wanted to avail yourself. The long table dinner with our new friends and the pici pasta making class was most memorable. My recommendation would be if you can go then do it, you will not regret it.

Staying at Cretaiole was the highlight of our honeymoon. Everything about our visit was exceptional. The room had was cozy, clean, and had absolutely everything you could need (the great views from the windows weren't bad either!). The staff was phenomenal: so helpful, friendly, and full of fantastic recommendations about the surrounding area and things to do. We would highly recommend purchasing the dolce vita package with your stay. It's a great deal for participating in all the many activities Fernanda and everyone else organizes for you to get an authentic taste of the Tuscan lifestyle. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Don't miss the pici (Tuscan pasta) making class!

I have traveled to Italy numerous times over the past 25 years. My husband and I fell in love with Casa Moricciani during our first visit over 5 years ago. We have been back numerous times since and have extended this invite to several friends and family. Each of them now traveling to Castelmuzio and spending time with Isabella and Carlo. We have gone so far as to look to spend several months a year once we retire. My husband and I are so grateful to Isabella.

I haven't even gotten there yet, but based on our last 2 stays at each of the other types of accommodations, ( the agritourismo and apartments in town). This will be a splendid week! The Moricciani family knows how to provide 5 Star service and they know what excellent customer service means. They're just the greatest people and ARE the experience!
